Mary Cross, Ph.D. is the retired Director of the Office of Catholic Faith Formation for the Archdiocese of Seattle. She is a member of St. Matthews parish offering leadership in a variety of adult faith formation programs including Sacred Story. She offers 12 Step Retreats and other programs of faith formation  in the Archdiocese and northern California.

Dr. Cross has served in several roles in the Chancery of the Archdiocese of Seattle. She previously served as director of the Channel Program in Seattle, where she developed ministerial formation programs that enabled the placement of many young lay ecclesial ministers in the local parishes and schools.

Dr. Cross has spent over thirty years working in faith formation for institutions of learning. At the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, she served as Director of the Center for Women and Religion. As a faculty member at the School of Applied Theology at the Graduate Theological Union, she also originated and developed an urban experience-based learning program for priests, religious, and lay ecclesial ministers in the Bay Area and Los Angeles.

Dr. Cross received her Doctorate in Organization Psychology from the Wright Institute (Berkeley, California). She also holds a Master’s Degree from the University of California (Berkeley, California) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut (Storrs, Connecticut).
