Watson to Appear on Two EWTN Shows

SEATTLE, WA. – Father William Watson, S.J., president and founder of Sacred Story Institute, will appear on two EWTN broadcasts in the coming weeks.

Watson, author of the recently released “True Heart: A Way to Selflessness” and “True Heart Practices,” travels soon to the studios for taping of Bookmark with Doug Keck and Life on the Rock with Father Mark Mary. Both shows air in August.

EWTN is in its 38th year and is the largest religious media network. Broadcasting 24 hours in multiple languages, the network goes into 268 million television households in more than 145 countries and territories.

Each week, Doug Keck brings the Bookmark audience the must-reads of Catholic literature and their authors. Fr. Watson will be making his fourth appearance on the show. He last appeared Jan. 20, promoting “Forty Weeks: Letters from Prison.”

Bookmark airs Sundays at 6:30 a.m., Pacific, Mondays at 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.

Life on the Rock airs Sundays at 6 p.m. Pacific and on varying times on Thursday (midnight or 2 p.m., Pacific). Host Fr. Mary chats with Fr. Watson for the first time. Life on the Rock is a revamp of the popular EWTN series, now hosted by Fr. Mary and the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word.

The Life on the Rock episode featuring Fr. Watson airs the week of Aug. 11.

True Heart targets youth and young adults, inviting them to disengage long enough to establish or deepen their spiritual habits.

“It has taken us four years to create an Ignatian life choices and discernment program that can reach the hearts and minds of Millennials, GENX and GENZ,” said Fr. Watson. “These resources will hopefully be a real spiritual powerhouse for youth and young adult ministry everywhere.”

Both editions have their foundation in the spiritual examination principles of St. Ignatius of Loyola and are intended to guide students and young adults toward their intended selfless relationships with God in the face of the world’s distractions.

True Heart is a 10-week journey of constructing solid spiritual habits. True Heart Practices is the collection of exercises in the book and is intended for youth or young adult meetings and retreats and theology classes.

Nearly half the allotted time for spiritual exercises is simply designed unhooking from technology so individuals can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in their hearts.
