True Heart, True Heart Practices Added to Arrupe Postulation

SEATTLE, WA. – Father Bill Watson’s latest books, “True Heart: A Way to Selflessness” and “True Heart Practices” have been placed in the postulation documents for the beatification process for Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J.

Both books contain the powerful address Fr. Arrupe gave to the Eucharistic Youth Congress of Europe in 1979. The books also contain the Ecclesiastically approved prayer for healing of someone through the intercession of Fr. Arrupe that specifically affirms the real presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

“Fr. Pascual Cebollada, S.J., “postulator” of the cause at the Jesuit headquarters in Rome let me know of this good news,” said Fr. Watson, who is president of Sacred Story Institute in Seattle. “Sacred Story Institute is very gratified to have these works included in the postulation.”

Both editions have their foundation in the spiritual Examen disciplines of St. Ignatius of Loyola and are intended to guide students and young adults toward their intended selfless relationships with God in the face of the world’s distractions.

True Heart is a 10-week journey of constructing solid spiritual habits. True Heart Practices is a collection of all of the spiritual practices used in the book and is intended for youth or young adult meetings and retreats and theology classes as “one-off” exercises.

Nearly half the allotted time for spiritual exercises is simply designed unhooking from technology so individuals can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in their hearts.
