E&W reflections are additional helps for your Sacred Story prayer journey. Reflect on them ahead of your prayer exercises for the week or outside of your fifteen-minute prayer windows during the week.
Our Faith affirms that God created the cosmos ex-nihilo — from nothing. We can affirm that this Divine act of creation was an act of Love. God is Love (1 Jn 4:8). God created human persons, women and men, to share in this love and in love’s creative energy. For marital love offers husbands and wives a share in God’s loving, creative genius. A child is born who will live for eternity. Have you ever contemplated this profound mystery: the creative power God gives to women and men? An eternal being is born in time. When you pray with Creation in Sacred Story, remember that your human life is an ex-nihilo act of Love from God through your parents. You did not have to be, but Love desired that you be born. Creation is an act of Love. You are born by God’s act of Love shared with your parents. Let the awesomeness of this truth create wonder in your heart. Ponder its meaning. Give thanks.
Pray for your parents this week, be they living or deceased.
Thank God for the life they gave to you.
Choose Gratefulness. Choose Life.
Awaken to Creation, Presence, Memory, Mercy and Eternity.
(Song of Songs 2: 10-12)
